Ending 28 Feb, 2025
For many Sesotho-speaking Muslims, this campaign represents more than a translationâââ‰â¬Âit is an opportunity to connect with their Creator in a deeply personal way.
The Quran in Sesotho: Bringing Allahâââ‰â¢s Words to Southern Africa ÃÂ
This Rajab, join Islamic Dawah Movement of Southern AfricaÃÂ (IDMSA) in a profound mission to bring the Holy Quran to life for Sesotho-speaking communities across Southern Africa. With your help, we aim to raise R200 000 to print and distribute 2,000 Qurans in Sesotho, giving millions the opportunity to connect with the words of Allah (SWT) in their native language.
For just $6, you can sponsor a Quran and illuminate a path to spiritual understanding and guidance for generations to come.
ÃÂ
ÃÂ
Why Sesotho Qurans Are Needed
ÃÂ
Sesotho is spoken by over 7 million people in Southern Africa, primarily in Lesotho, South Africa, and Botswana. However, many Muslims in these regions lack access to Qurans translated into their native language. This gap leaves countless individuals yearning for a deeper connection with the Quran, its teachings, and the beauty of Islam.
For many Sesotho-speaking communities, the Quran in Arabic or other widely available languages can feel inaccessible due to language barriers. By providing translations in Sesotho, we can bridge this gap, empowering communities to learn, implement, and share the message of Allah (SWT).
ÃÂ
A Testimony from a RecipientÃÂ of the Sesotho Quran:
ÃÂ
"As-salamu alaykum, I am a Sesotho-speaking Muslim, and for many years, I longed to understand the Quran in my own language. When I received the Quran in Sesotho, it opened doors to a deeper connection with Islam and Allah (SWT). I now feel closer to my Creator and can better apply the teachings of the Quran in my daily life."

ZAKAT Calculation
Simplifying your Zakat calculation
Calculating your Zakat isn't as difficult as you may think. We find that breaking your assets down into different categories makes the Zakat calculation process really simple.
We have broken down the calculation process into Zakatable assets (gold, silver, cash, savings, business assets etc.) and Deductible liabilities (money you owe, other outgoings due) so you can calculate the Zakat you owe easily.
The amount of Zakat you need to pay will be determined once you have calculated the value of your net assets. You then need to see whether your net assets are equal to, or exceed the threshold.
Why Choose Us?
We understand your Zakat is not just a donation, it is an act of worship ordered upon us by Allah (swt) to help ease the suffering of less fortunate men, women, and children around the world. By trusting us with your Zakat, you will not only be fulfilling your religious obligation, but you will also be helping tackle poverty and saving lives around the world

South Beach Masjid Renovation – Support the Masjid & Community Centre
Rebuild South Beach Masjid & Islamic Community Centre
A House of Worship. A Home for the Community. Target: R150,000
A Once Vibrant Masjid, Now in Urgent Need of Reconstruction
For over three decades, the South Beach Masjid & Islamic Community Centre stood as a pillar of faith and togetherness in the heart of Durban's South Beach area. It was a place where sailors stopped to pray, workers found peace after long days, and children's voices echoed as they learned the words of Allah (SWT).
Today, those same walls tell a different story - cracks spread across the ceilings, the roof leaks, and the once-busy prayer hall now struggles to host daily salah.
What was once a thriving centre of worship and learning has become unsafe and nearly unusable.
The time has come to rebuild - not just a structure, but a sanctuary of faith.
A Vision to Restore Hope and Worship
The Islamic Dawah Movement (IDM) has launched an urgent appeal to reconstruct the South Beach Masjid & Islamic Community Centre - to restore it into a safe, beautiful, and welcoming space for prayer, learning, and community service.
This reconstruction will include:
A completely rebuilt main prayer hall
Madrasah classrooms for children
Ablution (wudhu) facilities for men and women
A revamped community area for gatherings and classes
Safe, durable roofing and flooring
When complete, this Masjid will once again echo with the adhan, shelter daily worshippers, and serve as a home for Islamic education and unity.
Why This Project Matters
Durban's South Beach is home to a diverse and growing Muslim population, as well as thousands of visitors who work, live, or pass through the city centre.
The Masjid serves:
Local residents and business workers
Travellers seeking a place to pray
Over 80 madrasah students
Community programs and youth halaqahs
Without reconstruction, this important centre risks closing its doors entirely.
With your support, it can continue to serve hundreds of worshippers and learners every single week.
A Call from the Community
"This Masjid has been part of our lives for as long as we can remember.
We learnt here, prayed here, and raised our children here.
To see it deteriorate breaks our hearts - but we have hope, because the Ummah always rebuilds."
A Lasting Reward for You
"Whoever builds a mosque for Allah, seeking His pleasure, Allah will build for him a house in Paradise."
(Sahih Bukhari & Muslim)
Your donation to this project is not just charity - it is Sadaqah Jariyah, a continuous reward that benefits you long after you leave this world.
Every brick, every prayer offered within, every child who learns the Quran here - all will bear witness to your contribution.
Be the Reason This Masjid Stands Again
The South Beach Masjid has served Durban's Muslim community for over 35 years.
Let's ensure it continues for another 35 and beyond.
