Simplifying your Zakat calculation

Calculating your Zakat isn't as difficult as you may think. We find that breaking your assets down into different categories makes the Zakat calculation process really simple.

We have broken down the calculation process into Zakatable assets (gold, silver, cash, savings, business assets etc.) and Deductible liabilities (money you owe, other outgoings due) so you can calculate the Zakat you owe easily.

The amount of Zakat you need to pay will be determined once you have calculated the value of your net assets. You then need to see whether your net assets are equal to, or exceed the threshold.

Our Feeding Scheme provides essential daily meals to students and vulnerable communities who rely on this support.

The cost to feed one student for a full year is R7,200, ensuring consistent access to nutritious meals throughout their learning journey.

A single meal costs just R30 a small amount that makes a big difference.

To provide a hot meal for 10 people costs R300, allowing you to directly impact multiple lives in one contribution.

Help restore a house of Allah and preserve a centre of worship, learning, and community upliftment in Umzumbe.

A Musjid in the Rolling Hills of KwaZulu-Natal

For over 25 years, the Umzumbe Musjid has stood as a place of worship, learning, and community connection in the southern KwaZulu-Natal region.

Surrounded by the rolling hills of Umzumbe, this Musjid continues to serve the local Muslim community through daily salaah, Islamic learning, madrasah activities, and spiritual guidance.

Today, this beloved Musjid is in need of refurbishment so that it can continue serving worshippers, learners, and families in a safe, dignified, and welcoming environment.

Why This Project Matters

The Umzumbe Musjid is more than a building. It is a centre of Imaan, education, and community upliftment.

It serves local worshippers and families, madrasah learners, children learning the Qur’an and Islamic values, community members who depend on the Musjid for guidance and support, as well as travellers and visitors passing through the area.

After many years of service, the Musjid now requires refurbishment to preserve its structure and improve the facilities for the community.
