Collections and Fund Raising
The Islamic Dawah Movement (IDM) invites you to join us in a transformative mission: making the Quran accessible to Afrikaans-speaking communities. Our previous distribution efforts have been met with overwhelming demand, and now, we need your help to reprint and distribute more copies of the Quran in Afrikaans.
Afrikaans is spoken by millions across Southern Africa, and there is a growing desire among Afrikaans speakers to connect with the Quran in their own language. Your support in reprinting the Afrikaans Quran will make the divine message accessible, allowing individuals to gain a deeper understanding and connection with Islam.
Transliteration of Surah Al-Baqarah Verse 261
Afrikaans:
"Die gelykenis van diegene wat hul rykdom in die weg van Allah spandeer, is soos die gelykenis van 'n graankorrel wat sewe are voortbring; in elke aar is daar honderd korrels. En Allah vermeerder die beloning vir wie Hy wil. En Allah is Alomvattend, Alwetend."
English:
"The example of those who spend their wealth in the cause of Allah is like a seed of grain that sprouts seven ears; in every ear is a hundred grains. And Allah multiplies [His reward] for whom He wills. And Allah is All-Encompassing and Knowing."Â (Sahih International)
In addition to Afrikaans, IDM has translated and distributed the Quran in several other languages, including Xhosa, Zulu, Sotho, Chichewa, Yao, Portuguese, Runyankore, and Setswana. By reprinting the Quran in Afrikaans, you help us move closer to our broader goal: ensuring that the message of the Quran reaches all communities, regardless of language.
By contributing to the reprinting and distribution of the Quran in Afrikaans, you will:
One recipient of the Afrikaans Quran, Annelize Adam from Cape Town, shared her gratitude:Â
"As-salamu alaykum, I am Annelize Adam from Cape Town. I cannot express how grateful I am for receiving the Quran in Afrikaans. For many years, I struggled to fully understand the teachings of Islam because the Quran was not available in a language I could comprehend. When I received the Afrikaans Quran from IDM, it felt like a door had been opened. I now feel more connected to Allah, and it has deepened my understanding and brought me peace. Thank you for this precious gift that has transformed my life."
To reprint the Afrikaans Quran and support future translation projects, we aim to raise R100 000. This will enable us to print additional copies and extend our outreach to even more communities.

Break the Cycle of Poverty with the Gift of Opportunity
Across Southern Africa, thousands of Muslim youth, women, and reverts face a future of limited choices. Unemployment, poverty, and a lack of skills trap entire communities in cycles of need, dimming the light of hope and potential.
For over 40 years, the Islamic Dawah Movement of Southern Africa (IDM) has worked to uplift communities. Now, we are launching a vital mission to provide the most powerful tool for change: practical education and vocational skills.
Your support will empower our brothers and sisters with the dignity of self-reliance, the means to sustain their families, and the ability to contribute positively to their communities.
Our Inspiration from the Qur'an & Sunnah
This mission is a response to our Islamic duty to empower one another:
"And help one another in righteousness and piety, but do not help one another in sin and transgression. And fear Allah; indeed, Allah is severe in penalty." (Surah Al-Ma'idah 5:2)
"Whatever good you put forward for yourselves - you will find it with Allah. Indeed, Allah is Most Knowing of what you do." (Surah Al-Muzzammil 73:20)
The Prophet Muhammad showed us the way:
"The best of people are those that bring most benefit to the rest of mankind." (Daraqutni, Hasan)
"When a person dies, his deeds come to an end except for three: ongoing charity (Sadaqah Jariyah), beneficial knowledge, or a righteous child who prays for him." (Sahih Muslim)
Your donation is not just aid; it is Sadaqah Jariyah-an investment in knowledge and skills that will benefit generations and continue earning you reward.

In the quiet village of Hombe, Southern Africa, a beautiful transformation is taking place - more hearts are turning to Islam, more souls are seeking guidance, and more families are finding solace in the deen. But with this growth comes an urgent need: a masjid that can nurture, protect, and inspire this blossoming Ummah.
IDM Hombe Masjid is more than just a building - it is a beacon of hope, a sanctuary for worship, and a lifeline for new Muslims, children, and elders. But today, its walls are worn, its roof leaks, and its facilities struggle to accommodate the growing community. We cannot let this light dim.

Your donation is not just charity - it is an everlasting investment in your Akhirah. Every dollar you give will continue to earn you reward, for as long as the masjid stands and worshippers pray within its walls.
Why Your Help Is Urgent

Amandawe
Masjid Needs You
Help Us Raise R150 000 to Rebuild a House of Allah in Southern Africa
Tucked in the heart of Amandawe, a township on the South Coast of KwaZulu-Natal - the Amandawe Masjid has long served as the spiritual anchor for a small but devoted Muslim community. For decades, it has provided a sacred space for salah, Islamic education, community upliftment, and da'wah efforts in the area.
But today, this beloved masjid needs you.
Your donation isÃÂ Sadaqah Jariyah - a charity that lives on even after you return to Allah, earning you continuous rewards, InshaAllah.
ÃÂ
A Small Community, A Big Heart
Amandawe is home to a growing number of reverts and born-Muslim families who depend on the masjid as their only nearby Islamic centre. Many residents face socio-economic hardships yet cling to their faith with unshakable devotion. The masjid is not just a place of worship - it is their refuge, their classroom, their reminder of Allah's mercy.
ÃÂ
Revive a Sacred Sanctuary
The masjid's roof leaks in the rain, the carpets are frayed, and facilities are worn. Despite this, the Musallees continue to pray with patience and love. But it shouldn't be this way.
Restore Dignity in Worship
The wudhu areas are outdated and struggle to meet the needs of elderly and disabled members. Every believer deserves to prepare for prayer with ease and cleanliness.
Keep the Lights of Faith Burning
Old electrical wiring is both unsafe and unreliable. Frequent power outages disrupt classes and prayer.
Educate the Future of Islam in Amandawe
Islamic education is the backbone of this community. Children gather for Qur'an lessons; adults come for knowledge and guidance. The masjid classrooms, however, are in urgent need of repair.
ÃÂ
Echoes of the Prophet (PBUH)ÃÂ Legacy
The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH)ÃÂ said:
"When a person dies, all their deeds end except three: Sadaqah Jariyah
(ongoing charity), beneficial knowledge, and a righteous child who prays for
them."ÃÂ (Sahih Muslim 1631)
And in another narration:
"Whoever builds a mosque for Allah, Allah will build for him a house like it
in Paradise."ÃÂ (Sahih al-Bukhari and Muslim)
And Allah SWTÃÂ says:
"The mosques of Allah are only to be maintained by those who believe in
Allah and the Last Day"ÃÂ (Surah At-Tawbah 9:18)
ÃÂ
Your Gift Does More Than Build Walls
ÃÂ
Be a Lifeline for This Masjid
Whether you give $10, $50, $100, or more, your generosity directly uplifts the Muslim Ummah in Amandawe and helps preserve Islam in a region where it is cherished and growing against the odds.
